Period Machine Embroidery
Let me introduce myself. I am a stay at home mother and my husband is an Architect. We have always been interested in the Arts & Crafts period. Fifteen years ago we were fortunate to find our dream bungalow built in 1911 with all the fine Architectural details of the era. My husband is a fine furniture builder and furnished our home with Arts & Crafts furniture. To complete the look of our home, I wanted to add the softer side of period textiles. I didn't have the time to hand embroider pillows, runners, and bed linens to fill our home. I found that the cost of consigning someone to make them for me was not feasible. So I began to research the idea of an embroidery machine duplicating the look of the original designs. I know machines are against the philosophy of the period, but I found that I could aesthetically make designs with the appropriate materials and duplicate the originals to please myself. I have now adorned my Bungalow with pillows, table scarves, napkins, curtains, and bedspreads, and I am offering my designs to you. You will find that these designs are not just limited to us Arts & Crafts enthusiasts, but are appropriate for any traditional home.
A few of my favorite designs are offered here to begin with, and I will add new ones frequently. I hope you will be excited with your finished linens as I have been. I am proud to display them in my home and sure you will as well.
You may use these designs for personal projects and gifts. Please no sharing or altering of them in any way.
